The Camden Art Prize is held annually to promote the visual arts within the local government area of Camden and district, and to broaden and stimulate community perception of art with particular reference to Australian works

Showcase Exhibition

For several years the Camden Art Prize Committee has used the gallery entry of the Camden Civic Centre to highlight a feature artist, group of artists or theme.

2018 we welcome the vibrant works by Tumut artist Jennifer Forster, one of last years judges of the Camden Art Prize.

2017  local renowned artist Greg Frawley was our Gallery Feature Artist

2016 - Bob Baker exhibited the works of  "Venture into Physics" and soon after shipped the same exhibition to Cordes sur Ciel, near Toulouse, France.

The Camden Art Prize is run entirely by a dedicated team of volunteers, and without the sponsorship and support from the Community, the Camden Art Prize Inc couldn’t continue to survive and we thank our generous sponsors for their support.

About Us

The Main Aims of the Committee are:

• To stage the Camden Art Prize.

• To acquire works of art for the Camden Council Art Collection, by holding acquisitive competitions.

• To promote the visual arts within the local government area of Camden and district, and to broaden & stimulate community perception of art with particular reference to Australian works.


The Camden Art Prize Committee Inc is holding its 42nd Annual Exhibition this year with a great history behind the staging of this major annual cultural event. Run entirely by volunteers, and with the support of local businesses and Camden Council, the Art Prize is renowned as a high calibre art exhibition and competition with entries coming from both the local and surrounding areas.
