The Camden Art Prize Committee invite you
to join with 15-20 others for a glass of wine and nibblies
before your guided tour with a local artist of the 

 2017 Camden Art Prize Exhibition


Knowledgeable local artists will accompany each group of 15-20 around the 2017 exhibition with a guided walk through including judge's comments, framing, techniques used and other interesting information on this years exhibition.

Ideal for those that can't make the exhibition at other times due to work or other commitments. Make a night of it with friends and have dinner after in one of the many Camden Cafes or Restaurants.

The Camden Art Prize committee wish to announce the 2017 Camden Art Prize will be officially opened by Professor The Hon Dame Marie Bashir AD, CVO

Dame Marie is the former Governor of New South Wales (2001-2014) and former Chancellor of the University of Sydney (2007-2012). She was NSW’s first female Governor.

In 2001, Dame Marie was appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia.  In 2006, the Queen appointed her a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (CVO).

In the 2014 Queen's Birthday Honours, Dame Marie was made a Dame of the Order of Australia "For extraordinary and pre-eminent achievement and merit in service to the administration, public life, and people of New South Wales, to medicine, particularly as an advocate for improved mental health outcomes for the young, marginalised and disadvantaged, to international relations, through the promotion of collaborative health programs, and as a leader in tertiary education".

2017 Camden Art Prize

2017 is the 42nd Camden Art Prize Annual Exhibition and Competition.

The Camden Art Prize is held annually to promote the visual arts within the local government area of Camden and district, and to broaden and stimulate community perception of art with particular reference to Australian works

Showcase Exhibition

For several years the Camden Art Prize Committee has used the gallery entry of the Camden Civic Centre to highlight a feature artist, group of artists or theme.

In 2017, we welcome local renowned artist Greg Frawley.

2016 - Bob Baker exhibited the works of  "Venture into Physics" and soon after shipped the same exhibition to Cordes sur Ciel, near Toulouse, France.

The Camden Art Prize Committee Inc is holding its 42nd Annual Exhibition this year with a great history behind the staging of this major annual cultural event. Run entirely by volunteers, and with the support of local businesses and Camden Council, the Art Prize is renowned as a high calibre art exhibition and competition with entries coming from both the local and surrounding areas.
